Shaping the future of workspaces with Smart Pod HMIs

Framery is a global pioneer in soundproof office pods and workplace solutions, trusted by over 70% of Forbes Top 100 companies such as Tesla, Puma, and Microsoft. They seek to empower productivity and focus for millions of knowledge workers worldwide. Building on the success of their first-generation office pods, Framery is once again setting a new benchmark with the development of their second-generation Smart Pods, with an entire new fleet feauturing 4 different pods, new features, and the industry’s most advanced Human-Machine Interface (HMI).

We are honored to have partnered with Framery to design the next-generation interface for these groundbreaking Smart Pods. Our focus was to create an intuitive, versatile, and connected display experience that transforms how users interact with the pods. This cutting-edge interface sets a new standard for HMI in the category, advancing Framery’s mission to deliver seamless, future-proof workplace solutions.

New pods,
new display.

Framery embarked on developing their second-generation of Smart Pods set to launch in 2024, with a primary focus on enhancing the external design and sustainability of the pods. The new generation exemplifies Framery’s commitment to reducing material usage while maintaining exceptional durability, reliability, and attention to detail. All hallmarks of their design DNA.

Our challenge was to create a new visual language for a larger, more advanced display that seamlessly complements the elegance and functionality of Framery’s iconic design. The interface needed to enhance the overall user experience, aligning with the sophisticated and efficient nature of the next generation Smart Pods, while delivering a user-friendly and future ready experience.

New visual language

Building on the insights and feedback from Framery’s first-generation pods, we aimed to refine and elevate the user experience for the second generation. The challenge was to retain the core principles of Framery’s design DNA: simplicity, elegance, and functionality and also modernize the visual language.

We focused on enhancing the display to better showcase key pod features, addressing areas where the first iteration’s features had been less noticeable. The updated design ensures a more intuitive and visually engaging experience, making it easier for users to navigate and interact with the pods while also providing flexibility for future updates and customization.

Building on the past

In 2020, we had the privilege of designing Framery’s first Office Pod UIs. With HMI 2.0, we aimed to build on the success of the first version by integrating key learnings and user feedback, while refining the overall experience to better meet the needs of modern workplaces.

Feature mapping

We wanted to offer more controls for adjusting the airflow and lighting, as well more functionalities in regards to reservations in the calendar. Altogether, these would help improve the overall comfort and productivity in Framery Pods

Enhanced experiences.

With the approach set, we moved forward to shape the final product. The new Framery HMI elevates the user experience, combining intuitive controls and upgraded features to create a calm, productive environment. This next-generation interface ensures users can seamlessly adjust their space for maximum focus and efficiency.
